Wild Woman
seeks an image
to accompany
her Wild Woman
poems.
Needs something
frizzy-haired
and cartoonish,
sorta like
a dumpling
with matted yarn
for hair.
Hmmmm........
she decides
all she really
needs to do
is point
the camera
in the mirror.
But last time
she did that
she scared herself
so badly,
she vowed
she'd never
do it
again.
Wild Woman
is so
freaking
vain.
Wild Woman
is so
freaking
vain.
What fun! Made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteYou are not the only vain, wild woman! This is a wonderful read, Sherry!
ReplyDeleteSherry...this is so funny! My wife had a Maxine calender last year and it just cracked me up.
ReplyDelete(Thanks for the kind words on my post)
yep, that made me chuckle too.
ReplyDeleteMade my night. Great voice and attitude. Words choices and pacing were superb.
ReplyDeleteFunny poem. The caricature goes well along with it.
ReplyDeleteVanity and survival go hand in hand. If we didn't love ourselves why would we bother to protect ourselves? You are a survivor, Sherry, and a beautiful woman, inside and out.
ReplyDeleteI love the voice in this one and your imagery! Great attitude poking fun at yourself; you are beautiful inside and out~!
ReplyDeleteI enJOYed your take on this prompt~
Love this!

Sherry, this is fun. I liked the ending. My favorite lines: "a dumpling / with matted yarn / for hair." That's such a great image.
