Day 9 of the Soul Card Journey
with Elizabeth Crawford, of Soul's Music
Soul cards by Deborah Koff-Chapin at http://www.touchdrawing.com/
Our traveler's roots
go down deeply
into the earth,
fastened firmly there
like her sisters,
the trees.
Like them,
she knows
how to
endure.
Like them,
she nurtures
life,
with strength
sheltering
those in need of
shelter,
feeding
those who
arrive
needing food,
giving rest
to life's many
wayfarers.
As she makes
her way,
she stops
often
to rest beneath
friendly branches,
and to
listen to
the music of
the singing trees.
Like her sisters,
the trees,
she often finds herself
traveling
the farthest
when she's standing
in one place.
Kids, I'm heading out of town right now, back tomorrow evening........
will catch up with all of you then:)
I love this one! "She finds herself traveling the farthest when she's standing in one place." So true. When we're too frenzied, we cannot make progress we need. Excellent poem.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lolamouse. We often do travel most when we stand still and look around. There is so much within our environment, deep roots, strong.
ReplyDeleteOh Sherry, what a wonderful surprise to come here and find you speaking of a sister to trees. These cards are so deep with inspiration, speaking strongly of what life, living is all about. Thank you my friend, and hurry back,
ReplyDeleteElizabeth
