Wild Woman Looks in the Mirror

Wild Woman
seeks an image
to accompany
her Wild Woman
poems.

Needs something
frizzy-haired
and cartoonish,
sorta like
a dumpling
with matted yarn
for hair.

  Hmmmm........
she decides
all she really
needs to do
is point
the camera
in the mirror.

But last time
she did that
she scared herself
so badly,
she vowed
she'd never
do it
again.

Wild Woman
is so
freaking
vain.

  5. Funny poem. The caricature goes well along with it.

  6. Vanity and survival go hand in hand. If we didn't love ourselves why would we bother to protect ourselves? You are a survivor, Sherry, and a beautiful woman, inside and out.

  8. Sherry, this is fun. I liked the ending. My favorite lines: "a dumpling / with matted yarn / for hair." That's such a great image.
