Waiting for the Magic

for the Real Toads prompt: All the World's a Stage

All the World's a Stage,
with me bumbling
about on it,
like Ms. Magoo,
tripping over my feet,
slapping myself
upside the head,
muttering to myself.

Curtains get stuck
on the draw-ropes,
opening and closing
at random moments,
dust thick
in the old theatre.

The audience
grows restless,
coughing,
shuffling their feet,
and rattling
their programs.

They are
waiting for
the magic
to begin.

Me, too!

  1. Interesting cataclysmic last 5 lines for the magic to happen. And it will, for sure, Koko.

  3. Oh Sherry! What a response to the prompt... Mrs Magoo indeed! Your magic has been spread to the four corners of the globe... it began long ago and long may it continue.
