Ten thousand bodies
they say
may be
found
may be
found
along the shore.
Ten thousand
mothers and fathers,
ten thousand
daughters and sons.
There cannot be
a soul
on this planet
that does not
share
the grief
at this loss
of human
family,
alarm
at this
demonstration
of
planetary
distress.
I would be hard pressed to think of a country I feel less affinity for than Japan (Iran maybe?), but even I am horrified.
ReplyDeleteyes, grief is the right word...

Sherry,
ReplyDeleteIt is mind altering seeing the videos on TV. I still can't believe what I am seeing. I can't imagine enduring this...
My heart n' prayers go out to this country~
It is heartbreaking to watch, isn't it, Sherry? Such tragic loss of life...I grieve for every lost soul, and for our beleaguered world...
ReplyDeleteI grieve for all those who had to withstand this fury and tragedy. We are with you Sherry to pray for the lost souls.
ReplyDeleteThe extent of destruction was totally unprecedented; and it's still going on. $ nuclear power stations in danger. 2 explosions. I feel awful that it didn't stop with an earthquake and a tsunami. And i'm also with you in grieving for Japan, though i know that it is a resilient country and will bounce back.
