Josh, a tree sprite
Little boy
upon the grass
looking at
the sky so vast
watching puffy cloud-shapes pass
while the days
drift
slowly past
Arms crossed behind my head, am I
humming my love song
to the sky
below me
grass so soft and dry,
above a yellow
butterfly
Time stretches out
without an end
time the little
boy's best friend
these days will never
come again
the way they do
when I am ten
Hmmmm
ReplyDeleteGreat picture!
Loved the picture and the poem.
ReplyDeleteAw..I love this poem, Sherry..and your tree sprite. I remember summers of lying in grass, pondering the sky and feeling time slow down to lull me into peace.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how it would feel if I tried that now? I'll let you know...
