The autumn rains
have come.
Salmon are leaping
and splashing
in the swollen river.
The water
has risen
to the top
of its topmost bank,
lipping bushes and roots
thirsty
through the heat
of summer.
Down the
ancient path
carved
in the
mountain,
the waterfall
gushes again,
torrential
fountain.
Gray clouds
hover
and brood
atop the hills,
fountain.
Gray clouds
hover
and brood
atop the hills,
and all across
the fields and
rolling meadows,
green has
returned
once more
to the
peaceful valley.
Great entry..

ReplyDeleteHi, Sherry!
ReplyDeleteI think there is a special beauty to wet and cloudy environments. The smell, the feel of it. I've always loved it, and I love your words and pictures here!
As always Sherry, you write beautiful words to accompany those lovely photos. I love visiting your blog; it's like an oasis of calm.
ReplyDeleteSherry such beautiful words and the photos are great!

Yes, I am lucky to live in an abundance of watery places - rivers, lakes, lagoons, ponds, waterfalls and swamps abound. It is quite glorious! And, Wan Sharif, the above river is a FANTASTIC fishing spot. I know many spots along its banks where anglers toss their lines in:)Thank you for reading and commenting. I am a bit uninspired right now, as I have two ailing dogs, and their ailments are distracting me. I so appreciate your visits - every single one!
ReplyDeleteMy prayers with you and your dogs..
ReplyDeleteBeautiful words. Beautiful photos! Makes me want to find a mountain waterfall!
