Dogs
understand everything
so much
more than
many humans
give them credit for.
They just lack speech,
so cannot
tell us.
I know they think,
remember,
feel joy,
feel pain,
feel loss,
feel sad,
feel empathy
for their person.
I see it
in their eyes:
non-speaking souls,
with hearts
full of
unspoken love,
waiting for
humans
to appreciate
their gift
of wordless
devotion.
Dogs are the best!
ReplyDeleteI had both cats and dogs growing up... love dogs, miss having them (apt. isn't big enough). Interesting: If a person has, say, a tumor or other disease, a dog will lick the area over it continually until its owner seeks help. Lives have been saved by this quality. They are loving souls. Thanks, Sherry! (Now I want a dog, sniff)

ReplyDeleteWell said, Koko. I agree, totally.
ReplyDeleteAnimal person here, because my dogs taught me so much, especially about true caring and loyalty. Good one Sherry,
