This piece reminded me of Susan Griffin's Woman and Nature. I went to look for it, without luck, it's here somewhere. A wonderful book. She talks about how men have to kill nature to learn about it, and women, have but to see the bird fly, and knows she breaths the same air that the bird flies in and she knows they are the same. When I find it I will give it to you better. Thanks for the post.
This is what poetry is all about - capturing the essence of mind and heart in a well-chosen words. This has eliminated all that is superfluous and is beautiful in every way.

ReplyDeleteLovely, we all do need flight to free ourselves from our bond with the earth.

Happy Blogging! :)
The transcendent loftiness of flight... Oh, how I sometimes yearn for just that. Beautiful, Sherry.
ReplyDeleteYour timing is perfect...I'm feeling heavily earthbound, and long to spread wide wings up to the heavens! My spirit is soothed by your poem....
