I am posting this prayer for peace today in solidarity with hearts all over the world who long for peace.
The annual Blog Blast for Peace, this year celebrated on November 4th, was begun by Mimi Lenox, who blogs at
http://mimiwrites.blogspot.com/
Mimi wrote a plea for peace on her blog in 2006. Other bloggers responded, and the movement has grown year by year. It looks like this year will be the biggest ever, with bloggers from countries all over the world planning to fly their globes in unison, all of November 4th. With them, I launch my plea into the stratosphere: May there be peace on earth, and may it begin with me.
Please click on the link above to find out how to participate in this event. Join us. We will be watching the globes come in from everywhere all day long. Peace ~ an idea whose time has come.
My prayer is below. Please scroll down.

We all live
laugh
love
weep
and pray
under
the same
moon

May
Peace
creep over
the world
like
a friendly fog
like an idea
whose time
has come
whose moment
has arrived
like
the earth's song
sung
by
the river of life
flowing
through
every human heart
like the wind
calming
every ruffled brow
soothing
every mind
silencing
the sound
of
every
weapon.
May
Peace
be the
all-pervading
will
of the
entire
human
population
from each heart
to all the hearts
of every
nation
from the will of the people
to the hearts
of those who lead -
our prayer:
put down
the guns
let warfare
cease
and
let us hear
the sound
of perfect
Peace
Amen to that Sherry....beautifully written prayer. :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful prayer..
ReplyDeleteAMEN..
I too talk to Moon often.. have just said my evening prayers.. :D
I will be writing about peace often between now and November the 4th, when Mimi Lennox at www.mimiwrites.blogspot.com
ReplyDeletelaunches her 5th annual BlogBlast for Peace. This movement, that Mimi began in 2006, has grown each year until now bloggers from 50 countries will be participating, flying their Peace globes (get them at the blogblast site) and writing about peace. Hope you will join us!
I love this piece, hopefully this prayer for peace will be heard.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you have a very lovely place which I only dream about. The Pictures are breathtaking.
Even in the middle of the most calamitous events,
ReplyDeletein the midst of tremendous uproar,
let there be peace as the core,
let there be peace among friends!
Yes, let there be peace! Especially within each one of us - what is that famous line? : Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me. That is where it starts. May it spread from heart to heart, covering the world like a warm blanket.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you wrote this; I sure wish this could spread like a friendly fog! xXx
ReplyDeleteBeautifully said, Sherry...the world so desperately needs to "hear the sound of perfect peace". If enough of us add our voices and our prayers, it will happen...:)
ReplyDeletePeace, grant us all peace. That prayer is gold !
ReplyDeleteI like that bit about under the same moon. Lovely peace globe.
Beautiful thoughts. However, I feel I must add that all conflict in man's world is a result of his inner conflict - his neurotic dualism. Only when that is addressed and solved can there be lasting peace. As there has been no divine intervention in two thousand years it seems that man must at last recognize the problem and help himself.
ReplyDeleteSherry: I'm peace post blog-hopping today and I love your photo of the moon monk. Thanks for your prayer for peace too. Inspirational. Have a great day!
