The Kiss of Sea Foam
Wild Woman carried a flame in her heart
through a dark hopeless desert.
It kept her from giving up
in days too painful for living.
"It will get better," her inner
wise woman whispered,
somewhere deep inside.
This hope kept her walking
through the landscape of despair.
At midlife, Wild Woman decided
she had suffered enough
and she made a great leap,
a hero's journey over the mountains
and to the sea.
The fire inside subsided,
became a soft chuckle.
The land recognized her;
she knew she was home,
her joy the song of the waves
and the kiss of sea foam.

I like the idea of a fire inside becoming a soft chuckle. Seems a more contented place!!
ReplyDeleteSeems that both of us are moving on memories today. Finding ways to tell our stories. Love your closing lines.
