with a cheery smile and a cackle.
"You think everything's funny,"
her mother once said, and it is true.
Wild Woman hangs onto her last shred
of hope that humanity will evolve in time,
though the rise of trump almost swamped her,
and claws at her still, trying to drag her down.
Wild Woman resists. The earth is too beautiful
to abandon; the animals need wild warriors
to liberate them.
At the core of her being, Wild Woman carries
a vessel of tears, spilling over:
for all of the losses,
for the love that didn't come
and the love that did,
for the homes sorely gained, then lost,
for the missing faces around the family table,
for the plight of all beings.
Wild Woman walks on the sunny side,
but carries with her, bravely,
the source of her tears:
a heart-mix of gratitude and sorrow
for all that has been.
It is the beauty of life that always
makes her cry.

Like this Sherry. It is all about the outer and the inner, finding the balance, and then keeping it.

Ah, the tears were well earned; some from sadness and some from gratitude. So much emotion from living a well-lived life.
ReplyDeleteThere's always a sunny side, as wild women know.
