Wild Woman is blindsided
by a small black puppy in a movie,
remembering that small black pup
that grew into a big black wolf:
alpha,
hilarious,
intelligent,
totally his own wild being
- and the love of her life.
Almost ten years,
since he died,
and a small black puppy
that will grow big,
grow old,
and die
still brings her to tears.
I totally get it. I still think of some of my gone four legged friends and grieve for them. Wish they were all here. I worry for my Leroy now. He's getting old.
