Between Wild Woman's heart
and the moon so high above
is a space filled with
dreams and visions
she keeps
thinking of.
A world of earthlings
longing for harmony,
social justice,
sustainability and peace,
a human race
that feels forsaken,
hopefully
emerging from this
frightening time
purposeful and
awakened.
"Historically, pandemics have forced humans to break with the past and to imagine their world anew. This one is no different. It is a portal, a gateway between one world and the next.
"We can choose to walk through it, dragging the carcasses of our prejudice and hatred, our avarice, our data banks and dead ideas, our dead rivers and smoky skies behind us. Or we can walk through lightly, with little luggage, ready to imagine another world. And ready to fight for it."
- Arundhati Roy
Hard to think of much else than the virus these days. I am stunned and horrified by the number of cases and deaths in the USA. Each one heartbreaking to everyone concerned. Stay safe everyone.
One can only hope for that awakening to come quickly, Sherry...Stay safe.

It is sad to see the reaction of some countries to the virus resulting in cross contamination and many deaths. It is so much better to isolate oneself from others and hopefully stock up with supplies to hide away out of danger.
ReplyDeleteA lovely thought and an inspiring quote. We live in hope.
ReplyDeleteI like how you addressed what we are going through and you are right it is in our thoughts~ Yes, lovely thoughts~
ReplyDeleteLet's hope that really happens as we really need to show some common sense over the next ten years at least to recover from it without being taken for a ride.
ReplyDeleteI do so hope so, Sherry. The world is learning lessons the hard way. Many paying the ultimate price - I do hope that the world that reemerges changes for the better in their memory.
ReplyDeleteAh, we are tied to both sky and ground. What we do in between is up to us. You got me thinking.
ReplyDeleteIn life we have opportunities for rebirth. The world is no different. May we awaken in wisdom. I love the wisdom in this poem.
ReplyDeleteI love the sensitivity with which this poem is penned, Sherry!❤️
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad we sing this song to each other, remembering who we are!
