The Observer

piczload.com

The years roll by more quickly
as we age,
as if we are Tibetan prayer wheels
being spun,
till we fly right off our perch
and disappear
into the sun.

We become The Observer
as we age -
the sage
with wisdom
no one wants to hear.

We smile.
It is all right.
They will learn
in their own time.
One day, they, too,
will be
spinning clear.

  1. smiles... we def. should take the opportunity and learn from the elder ones but i think we all have to make our own experiences as well...learning our own lessons...sometimes the hard way

  2. This is beautiful Sherry. I guess everyone eventually arrives at some level of wisdom. Life is such a lesson. Yet, I fear that some (of us) stay at a very low level with pseudowisdom camouflaging ignorance. I'm especially referring to our world leaders, leaders of tribes and religions etc.

  3. As we grow older, we are certainly more wiser ~ But some learn best when they experience it first hand ~ I suppose everyone learns in their own time ~
