At Real Toads Mama Zen has challenged us to write about our world in 35 words. GREAT prompt, but also OMG! It takes me 35 words to sneeze on the page! This IS a challenge, therefore a very good one.
My world:
full of old people,
dogs and babies,
sunshine, blue sky,
Mother Earth and the sea.
It's a world
just the right size
for me.
Whoa! It only took 25! :)
yay! perfect.
ReplyDeletei'm giggling because even with a word count of 35 or less, i'm reading various poems by Toads and thinking about words i would cut.
not too many words to do without in yours, though. oh, maybe a couple :)
Look at Ms. Jasmine, stylin' away!
ReplyDeleteSounds just right to me, filled with the best kind of people (furry ones too).
ReplyDeleteI like how the rhyme divides detail from commentary in a poem just big enough to contain what you love. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteNow, that's just perfect! And, what an adorable picture!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you... You rose up to the challenge beautifully.
ReplyDeleteAnd you and your world are just right for us too :)
ReplyDeletePerfectly executed challenge! I love the lyrical quality.
ReplyDelete"It's a world
ReplyDeletejust the right size
for me."
Aww, this is precious. :)
Oh my goodness!!! First Sherry, you made me laugh with your sneeze comment and then I was like "awww..." that is really so sweetly you and the perfect brevity!!! I love this so much!! I feel like I've come to know you even more and in 25 words...amazing!
ReplyDeleteSo perfect, "just the right size for me" — well done!
ReplyDeleteAnd, speaking of size, Jasmine's summer haircut proves she is not as fat as Lindy, but I love the smile under that hat!
K
Sounds like a beautiful world...love the photo of your dog!
ReplyDeleteI like that its the right size for you ~ Lovely picture too ~
ReplyDeleteHappy day to you ~
LOVE!! So perfect.
ReplyDeleteYou do well with short, Sherry. Sometimes it is good to expand one's ways of writing, I think.
ReplyDeleteLove this! So true and perfect in so few words~ Jaz looks great in that hat :D
ReplyDeletePerfect Sherry. "Just right size for me". :)
ReplyDelete25 good words!
ReplyDeleteGood job Sherry. Your world is almost identical to mine, except instead of sea, I have desert.
ReplyDeletePhew, another literal-ist, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHey! You're not old and neither am I! LOL Beautiful poem!
ReplyDeleteAwww that's just so cute! In such economy of words, your poem must get a perfect full star.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a pretty great world! Love the photo!
ReplyDeleteWonderful peek into your world!
ReplyDeleteSherry, I think you summed yourself up quite well. And 25? Impressive, since you didn't delve into the National Health, crap on them all!! Of course Mother Earth is in there, because you are not only Wolf Woman, but a good old Earth Mama like me. Love, Amy

Love it Sherry, not a sneeze, maybe a sniffle? But still full of imagery. At WWP this week, we were asked to write a twelve word poem. You my dear were flush with riches given 35!
