Waiting for the Magic

google image: chichestercopyrighter.co.uk

All the World's a Stage,
with me bumbling
about on it,
like Ms Magoo,
tripping over my feet,
slapping myself
upside the head,
muttering to myself.

Curtains get stuck
on the draw-ropes,
opening and closing
at random moments,
dust thick
in the old theatre.

The audience
grows restless,
coughing,
shuffling their feet,
and rattling
their programs.

They are waiting
for the magic
to begin.

Me, too!

Hee hee. Posted for Poetry Jam's prompt: Magic

  8. i think i'm the stage boy tugging on the curtain draw rope but it keeps getting caught.

i have concluded that the magic is the reality of me tugging and tugging and tugging.

gracias mi amiga for sharing the stage

  20. Sometimes I feel like a supporting actor in the daily tragicomedy...but there is occasional magic, even if we have to conjure it ourselves. Nice going with this one.
