Little House

google image

Little house,
you respond to
my polishing
with gratitude,
then
we both
sit back
and bask
in the glow.

Did a totally anal spring clean of my tiny suite - so anal it took me all day. I am reminded of a fridge magnet I used to have - no idea where it went - that said "Little is my house, big is my heart." 'Tis true, my friends, and it is a pretty grateful heart tonight, at that.

  3. Oooh! I get that Spring-cleaning bug too, and can't stop until I'm completely exhausted.

  4. I love this poem Sherry, but I must ask, how may women write such beautiful words when you speak from the heart?? I only wish I too could bring my heart alive with such depths of love...Happy Night to you.

  5. It's always good to count our blessings. We are always so much better off than others and, a lot of the time, we don't realise it.

  6. T other day I readied my face cheeks and with great precision blew the dust off one of our cabinet tables, I saw a piece of loose debris on the hard floor of the kitchen and picked it up, a piece of lint or poodle hair on our berber carpet and removed it, took a hand towel and cleaned a spot of water from our downstairs bathroom mirror showing my meticulous spring cleaning prowess. My wife wanted a pink top for spring so I washed one of her white blouses with my red shorts and she got a pink top for spring. I think she truly appreciated my exhaustive contribution because she teared up when I gave her her pink spring blouse.

So I just wanted you young ladies to realize that us men also appreciate the burdens of Spring cleaning.

  7. Got a great giggle out of that last comment.
I get the spring cleaning bug but absolutely no energy with which to do anything other than pick up poplar-stickies brought in on the dog.
This year, the chaos of getting ready for the kitchen reno has made spring cleaning impossible, but oh, what a kitchen I'll have in three weeks!
Congratulations on your spring cleaning. I know it wasn't easy for you, but I know how satisfied you must be.
