From
sunrise
to sunset,
and all the
moments
in between,
my heart
so misses
the ever-changing
color
of those
Tofino
skies.
[From 1989 until 1999, I was surrounded by this ever-changing colorful panorama of sheer beauty. My soul feasted on this landscape like a hungry scavenger, who had long been denied a fulfilling meal. I experienced joy on a daily basis for ten glorious years, walking through some of the most spectacular landscape on the planet.
Leaving that place was like Jack Kornfield relinquishing his monk's robes. I have now lived longer in my make-do place than I lived there - inconceivable to me, as I always thought I would return. I still hope to. I have missed my life there every single day through all these years. It is the place where my spirit dwells, where it is at home.]
Cool poem - I pray you get back to your home of perfect skies.
ReplyDeletelove these sky images, perfect poem to go with them.
ReplyDeleteOh, Sherry, what wonderful pictures. The sky is never the same in any two pictures - ever-changing and spectacular. I especially love the one with the birds on the beach and the puff of cloud behind them. The sunsets/rises are magical. Thanks for sharing them with us.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them:) Such a beautiful place. I tell the story of my life there at the following link, if you care to read it. Those were magical years, the happiest of my life.
