Noodles On the Menu

 I had a fake funeral
for my unrealized hopes.
Mr. Right didn't arrive,
only a bonehead
with bags he never bothered
to unpack.
Last I heard,
he got arrested
(like his development.)

I experimented, at first,
with solitude,
then grew to love it.
Peace is strangely instinctual,
and one can enjoy it
even when noodles
are the only thing
on the menu.

A strange ditty the popped up from Shay's Word List.

  1. Hi Sherry, I love this!!! So clever and funny. Gave me a big smile on my way to bed. Love the arrested development line.

  5. Too good, Sherry, I mean, good riddance! I love the attitude, the well-deserved derision, and the resolution, the serenity of moving on. Nicely done.

  8. "Last I heard, he got arrested(like his development.) Love that! He gave you the gift of appreciating solitude. Bet he didn't think about that kind of freedom he would leave you with.
