Too Many Kisses

"Too many kisses,"
he said.
"How soon you forget
the time alone,"
I replied.

But he was in love with beginnings,
while I needed far horizons.

"Too many kisses,"
he  grumbled.
And soon there were
no kisses at all.

  1. Too many kisses! Perhaps she is trying to change him into a handsome prince, rather tha a king.

  2. Too many kisses...never too many kisses! But those far horizons do beckon, don't they?

    1. He was addicted to beginnings, but I needed the security of a promise he could not give, my eyes were on the long-term, he was "keeping his options open". LOL. I released him to his three other "options". He has resulted in a couple of funny ironic poems however.

  4. This is excellent! From too many to none. For some reason I was suddenly reminded of Aslan and Lucy from the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.
