Wild Woman Returns to Tofino

tofino-info.com

Last night I had the most marvellous dream. I had returned to Tofino for a visit, had found some new trails along the shore and through the old growth that I hadnt known before, and fell sobbing into a friend's arms after, saying I had missed being there so much.

In the dream I decided I was going to move back, ignoring the fact that housing is a continuing problem there, especially for impecunious potential bag ladies.

I talked  Chris, my wonderful poet friend from Tuff City, into the two of us living together in order to share rent. I visited two places I have dreamed of moving into in other dreams, one of which was a secret, unused empty suite that I hadnt known existed when we lived at 1260 Ethel, when the kids were young. Now it was in Tofino and I begged the woman who now lived in the actual house to let me live there. I had, in the dream two large dogs - one was Pup - and I explained to the woman that he had died but had come back to life again. The other dog was  large and black and white. The woman looked skeptical when I said we would make very quiet tenants.

To celebrate my return, there was a huge party, Tofino style, and I was ecstatic to be among my people once again. Sigh. It was lovely. Makes me want to do it for real.

  3. A dream is a reflection of the subconscious it seems. It tells of the yearnings building up in one's mind. One may just live the dreams eventually. Nicely Sherry!

  4. What a wonderfully, vivid dream, Sherry! I'm glad you wrote your dream down while it was still fresh. So many times I think I'll do it later and then forget.

  7. Dear Sherry I think the dream is telling you, "You are home, Dorothy." Where ever you are, you are among friends and you are "home." There is no going back. And as Dorothy would say, "And Toto is here, too, Auntie Eme!"

Have had a sore throat for the last couple of days, I decided to go back to bed this morning. In my dream I decided to go out to draw. I found myself at a fleamarket, in a wheelechair. I was working, moving from place to place. Then I realized I had lost my purse, I couldn't find it anywhere, I kept looking, under stacks of clothes, and stuff. I did find my purse, but as soon as I found it, I lost it, again. But while I had it, I looked inside, and the money was there, but that was all. I kept worring I would have to get new driver's licence, and credit card. But I had lost it again, so I was looking and looking, and couldn't stop.

  8. Beautiful dream Sherry. There's something about this that makes me want to have a great dream myself. Haven't had one for so long. Love the party at the end-that's an epic conclusion telling you, you are loved :)

  10. Changes and shifts are happening...feels like a lot of symbolism here too...like getting a new lease on life and wanting to make a life for yourself where you will live in joy. (There's that word again!)
