Windows

for the Poets United Thursday Think Tank prompt: Windows

I remember
people falling from windows,
their fear of the flames
greater than
their fear of falling.

My mind suspended
in horror and disbelief,
eyes watching their fall.
Still watching,
in memoriam,
today.

  1. Those dreadful memories of these burnings and fallings and smoke all around are etched forever in our minds, I think. Sadness abounds today.

  2. To think of the terror those people felt as they made the decision to jump... the only way out... so very sad.
