Traveler was making her way through a dark forest. The way would
be hard, so she carried all of her wolf medicine to help her make her way. Coming
to a fork in the road, she was diverted into a sunny meadow full of
wildflowers. The Wise One told her “Your travel plans have been changed.”

A metaphorical journey, and actual reprieve.
For Toni’s prompt at Real Toads: to write a true haibun of less
than 100 words. I had been working with an old poem, "Traveler, Diverted on the Path", for Magaly's prose prompt coming up at Poets United on Sunday. So when I read Toni's prompt, I used the same poem and material, to create this haibun. Cool.
Good News!!!
ReplyDeleteHooray! I like this metaphorical twist. And that is an easy way to write a haibun. Good on you. Thank you so very much for writing to my prompt today Sherry.
ReplyDeleteWild life can be as sweet as pets if their writers can pick up on that. Good job, Sherry, this seemed to be an extra sweet wolf mother.
ReplyDelete..
Awe...such a good halibut, Sherry. I loved the haiku at the end.
ReplyDeleteLove this...Thank goodness there will be another spring.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely — to see through another spring is a blissful thing. So glad about the actual reprieve and it's beautiful how you depict it here. :-)
ReplyDeleteI never tire of reading your poetry ~~ this is why!
ReplyDeleteMystery, intrigue and a happy haiku!
ReplyDeleteI love it on both levels.
ReplyDeleteAn iconic haibun, full of mystery and wonder! Great write, Sherry!
