Wings

My Story by Karina llergo (used with permission)

Books gave me wings.
They planted seeds,
and dreams.
They showed me a roadmap
out of trauma
towards survival.
Eventually,
they opened the door
of the cage.
And then,
I flew.

  3. Beautiful. One of those poem you read and wish you'd written, both because it's really good and because it shares your own story.

  4. What a delight it is to be wooed by books to such an extent that you never feel alone with a book at your bedside, or coffee table, or on the train and even on holiday!

  5. Me too. Opened doors to an entirely different type of life. I like the roadmap thought. Big help at the forks for sure.
