In the teapot of life,
I am old grounds,
most of my flavor spent,
almost ready to be
scuttled into the compost
to nurture new growth.
But while I am still here,
Great Teapot,
tip your spout one more time.
Fill just one more vessel for me
with a little cup of grace.
Oh how I love this. You are brilliant! Grace... the greatest gift of all.
ReplyDeleteSuch an excellent analogy, Sherry - not that I believe your flavour is yet half spent.
ReplyDeleteyou need not ask for grace, mi amiga. there's enough in that tea pot to go around. isn't that one of those tea pots that magically never empties? by the way, do you know how valuable tea and coffee grounds are to 'new birth, new growth'? I'm sure you do. Grace becomes you, mi amiga.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written! YOU still have a lot of time to gather Chamomile and Serendipitea~
ReplyDeleteYOU make me crave a cup of calm-wonderful!
nice one Sherry .. I am betting there is more than one cup left in you...
ReplyDeleteI love this, one more vessel, one more cup for the road ~
ReplyDeletethat is what life is all about...being poured out for others....and as long as i am wet...or at least grounds...i will give...smiles...
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful little gratitude prayer for being alive and still able to give. Couldn't agree with you more,
ReplyDeleteElizabeth
