Some things are uncomplicated:
Air, that we breathe,
Rain, that makes things grow,
Love, that makes us feel happy and safe,
Food, to nurture us,
Wildlands, so other species can also live.
The complications, the difficulties, the impossibilities,
Are because we humans think we need
So much more than we actually do.

That's right, Sherry. Made just for us, those things. But we sure have messed them up. We should be more careful with them as they are delicate.
ReplyDeleteWonderful message. Thank you, I try.

Such a shame how mankind finds a way to harm these uncomplicated things. I always enjoy you nature/natural themed poems.
ReplyDeleteSuch truth in those final lines, Sherry!! A most heartfelt write.💘
ReplyDeleteOh, how true, Sherry!
ReplyDelete'The complications, the difficulties, the impossibilities,

Your final stanza makes a very valid point, Sherry.
ReplyDeleteI place the complication a beat earlier -- we think. But even that collective is a misnomer -- homo sapiens is a dominant tribe of too needy individuals. Thanks for singing of the much larger wider wilder more wonderful tribe outside our doors.
ReplyDeleteI echo Brendan Sherry. As humans we think, but don't think...

Amen.
ReplyDeleteIndeed... it's very simple really. Our crave for more it's the complication.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Sherry.
ReplyDeleteSo true, Sherry. Complications when it's really simple.
ReplyDeleteThat's us. Thank you, Sherry, for the kind reminder.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Sherry. We complicate life too much.
ReplyDeleteAn absolute truth.
ReplyDeleteAlas, too true.
ReplyDeleteTotal truth, Sherry!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, that constant wanting and gathering can certainly complicate life.
ReplyDeleteSherry---I am having trouble with my vision--so I don't know if my comment was saved--this is such a wise poem. Wonderful. K.
