A Green-Leafed Love Note

Once I was a green-leafed love-note,
rising on a fecund breath.
I was a promise
winging up and over the mountains
towards a shining silver sea.

Once my spirit flew unfettered
through the cosmos,
in my dreaming seeking answers
in distant galaxies.

Some paths led straight and true;
some paths traveled in circles,
bringing me back home.

Mid-flight,
I finally found the place
all journeying leads to:
the space connecting
our heads
and our hearts.

I woke up this morning with the first line of this poem in my head. Expanded on it for Sumana's prompt at Midweek Motif: Space.

  5. Haha! You surprised me! I was wondering where that profound leaf was going. Again, we are waiting for the truth from the other side of life, when it is always alive in our mind/imagination/spirit. Wonderful!

  6. That must of been some night, Sherry! Lol! Lines from my poems often wander through my head at certain times during the day or night. I jot them down in a note app.

I hope your move is done. That picture is beautiful as is your thoughts. Have a nice end to your week. Hugs!

  7. Love it. I 'expanded' something swimming in my head all day today, too. ;) Love when that happens. And that space between head and heart is more important than ever now. Sigh.

  8. What a beautiful message this is, Sherry. It is when our hearts and heads connect that we are truly wholly alive.
