the wise old monk ponders the perfection
of the word "unity" being part of
the word "community".

perfect unity:
the trees, the sky, the ocean waves,
and me.

you galloped along the shore,
i followed after,
in perfect unity.

The wild world waits
for humans to learn to live
with it in unity.

The animals already know
how to live in unity. They are waiting
for us to join them there.

for Susan's prompt at Mid-Week Motif: Unity
Like a seer, your words of Unity
ReplyDeleteThe wild world waits
ReplyDeletefor humans to learn to live
with it in unity.
We should all strive to make this world a better place to live in and care for wildlife as well.
Beautifully penned :D
Lots of love,
Sanaa
Great words and thoughts, lovely piece.
ReplyDeleteNice. I like the connection you make between unity and community. Because if you don't go about creating community you will never have unity.
ReplyDeleteSo true, Sherry. The animals are waiting when we would learn to live in unity. Perfectly put!
ReplyDeleteCan we learn to live in harmony?
ReplyDeletewish we would All join and be One...this wholeness is an absolute necessity for survival...so beautifully put...
ReplyDeleteWe can learn from creation and the way it cares, thought provoking words.
ReplyDeleteAh yes we have to keep striving towards that goal of unity and harmonious existence. What lovely thoughts to contemplate

Much love...
These are all beautiful. They're like little prayers in disguise. They feed my spirit. Thank you Sherry.

-HA
When will humans learn what animals already know? That is the question.
ReplyDeleteBeing in a poets community I often think that we are the only ones than can see clearly. Great poem once again Sherry.
ReplyDeleteWonderful poem Sherry! I hope we join in knowledge soon. <3
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - very much in the vein of Francis of Assisi, I thought X
ReplyDeleteSherry this beautifully penned verse speaks (hopefully) to mankind. Maybe inciteful words can open the heart and mind to hear wisdom.
ReplyDeleteA very good environmental poem, love the getting back to nature vibe.
ReplyDelete"The wild world waits
ReplyDeletefor humans to learn to live
with it in unity."...And we never learn...and get thrown into a world in which we feel grievously cut off from the raw throb of existence. Sigh!!
Love this,Sherry!! Terrific lines....
We can all learn a great deal from animals. Beautiful words.
ReplyDeletei guess we're in the survival mode
ReplyDeleteI always come away form your poems feeling i have learnt something - not just wordy (community) but earthy (which is better) - i think the problem maybe we think too much - or not at all..finding the middle ground is probably good.. :)
ReplyDeleteSherry,
ReplyDeleteA susual humans are the last to even entertain learning from nature, animals and the universe as a whole..Singularly, humans seem to only wreck havoc upon the earth..A unity of world spirit might be a dream, but so much could be healed by that aspiration, if ever it became a reality..
