Rainbow Children
Indigo Child, you arrive with all your gifts,
in tune with the accelerated vibration of this planet.
You bring light; you show us the way to hasten
the transforming consciousness the earth needs now.
To transforming consciousness the earth needs now,
you bring light; you show us the way to hasten,
in tune with the accelerated vibration of this planet,
Indigo Child, you arrive with all your gifts.
Ha! my first cascading poem, which seemed to develop itself on the screen with little assistance from me. Cool.
Posted for Susan's prompt at Mid-Week Motif: Children. A topic I could write a dissertation about this week. But Wild Woman decided to give herself a break, and go for "Easy". Easy is good!
Sherry, I have that painting in my living room. I always refer to it as "Children of the Future," as many of the children seem racially blended....and this happens more and more these days. I like the idea of an Indigo Child arriving with gifts.....we need them!
ReplyDeleteVery cool!
ReplyDeleteEasy is good, especially when it is your easy, which to others could easily seem difficult :-)
ReplyDeleteNice shape too.
This is fabulous! I didn't even realize both stanzas were identical but inverted, because I 'read' them in two completely different 'voices'. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteA delightful and welcoming cascade to the indigo child.
ReplyDeleteI like the hopeful tone of your poem, Sherry, as well as the idea that changes will come from a child. Great use of the form!
ReplyDeleteSherry,
ReplyDeleteA wonderfully embracing poem, with hope in the new generations as its future. Their ability to lead, with an innocent wisdom.
A great poem Sherry, especially if you were seeking to keep it short!!!
Best wishes, Eileen:)
I had never heard of indigo child before so I assumed you made it up and only looked it up on a whim. And found it! I want to believe in Indigo Child as a possible hope of a better future around the world. I love your cascade backwards and forwards. Like CC, I only noticed the symmetry on second reading.
ReplyDeleteThis is like a soft echo, so tender. Love it, Sherry!
ReplyDeleteThey're the perfect big-eyed subject for kitschy decorative plates.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the cascade! It flows so naturally. (A daunting form, to me.) I like the sentiments too. :)
ReplyDeleteif only that indigo child would arrive...i wonder if we would listen or just dismiss what they had to say, you know....
ReplyDeleteWonderful form for this excellent poem, Sherry.
ReplyDeleteah we so desperately need them...the form is also
ReplyDeletevery nice and to me not so easy...
My grands are blended rainbow children. May they prosper and grow.
ReplyDeleteEasy is good (but i think it is still exceptional!) i love the notion of the Indigo Child..made me think of Hinduism..also simply a beautiful, joyful and youthful colour!
ReplyDeleteNice form. Must give it a shot. The Indigo child is the child of the future.
ReplyDeleteYes it 'flows' so nicely, very spiritual.
ReplyDeleteThe idea is simple! So it is good! No much words needed, when hearts talk in silence... ~ Love the poem and picture too :)xx
ReplyDeleteQuite ethereal, Sherry. A wonderful piece.
