Rooster,
send your sleepy
morning cry
across the valley,
bringing hope
to those
who feel hopeless.
All across the planet,
morning prayers
are rising up
into the
brightening sky.
Everywhere,
the veil of night
is being drawn
slowly back,
to reveal
the growing light
of a new dawn.
Everywhere,
the earth lies,
silent and
beautiful.
Open the door.
Sweep off
the doorstep,
and welcome in
the new day.
