Bring In the Clowns

I took two arms, a keyboard,
a distracted brain,
and a clown in a side-cart,
during a bout of emotional mania,
and tried to create art.

It lacked finesse and had poor rhyme,
was so not normal much of the time.
My system, on overload, cries out
for release, in a world in freefall
so lacking in peace.

Kind folks keep reminding me
mood swings are to be expected,
our hearts and minds being so connected,
when the sky is falling on every side,
and there's nowhere safe
in which to hide.

Where Shay's Word List  took me yesterday.

  1. So true...seems that safe places to hide in this world are becoming rarer and rarer. It reminds me of dominos falling, one after another. Such is the world.

  2. Not-Normals of the world, unite and take over! I loved that line about being so not normal. It's where all the best people are.

  3. I love the contrast between the rhyme and the message - Jae

  4. I am a Not Normal. We are inundated with stressors, fears, and idiocy. I need to spend my most time with my clan of unnormals.
