The earth and water are too hot
from our addiction to fossil fuels.
To leaders and corporations,
stuffing billions into their pockets
means more to them than the price

The Kelvin wave is supposed to hit our narrow peninsula three times here on the west coast of Vancouver Island, once in a few days, then just before Christmas and again in January. The effects of the climate crisis will leave no one untouched, except maybe those billionaires in their gold plated towers. Stay tuned.
Excellent poem. Who would not stand applauding having read this. Those disgusting creatures have forgotten a shroud has no pockets. Theories of global climate change are easy to deny because so many of them have already been disproved. Local climate change is an indisputable fact--if people are willing to do what it takes to reverse it, we can.
ReplyDeleteFor instance. Does your computer have a hard drive? Are you post-phone yet, or do you still have a land line? Any use of a flatphone or other "cloud-based" electronics, like Chromebooks, is feeding the demand for "data centers" that really do cause local warming and other bad things. The Internet is being deliberately made unfriendly to computers that still have hard drives. It shouldn't take a great number of us, at this time, refusing to use "cloud-based" data storage ON ACCOUNT OF THOSE DATA CENTERS, to turn the industry in the right direction, but it does need a few hundred reasonably active, vocal, and popular computer users. I'm in. Are you?
