I had a fake funeral
for my unrealized hopes.
Mr. Right didn't arrive,
only a bonehead
with bags he never bothered
to unpack.
Last I heard,
he got arrested
(like his development.)
I experimented, at first,
with solitude,
then grew to love it.
Peace is strangely instinctual,
and one can enjoy it
even when noodles
are the only thing
on the menu.
A strange ditty the popped up from Shay's Word List.
Hi Sherry, I love this!!! So clever and funny. Gave me a big smile on my way to bed. Love the arrested development line.
ReplyDeleteI like being on my own too so this spoke to me - a wonderful take on the words and ultimately uplifting - Jae
ReplyDeleteI love this, Sherry. I enjoyed the idea of a funeral for unrealized hopes! And good, peace is instinctual! Smiles.
ReplyDeleteArrested like his development! lmao!
ReplyDeleteToo good, Sherry, I mean, good riddance! I love the attitude, the well-deserved derision, and the resolution, the serenity of moving on. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteHa! You cracked me up with this! Peace and solitude are giant gifts!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this Sherry! Such wonderful humor with a cup of what matters. A brilliant mixture and use of the words!!
ReplyDelete"Last I heard, he got arrested(like his development.) Love that! He gave you the gift of appreciating solitude. Bet he didn't think about that kind of freedom he would leave you with.
ReplyDeleteI do love your sense of humour!
