Desert Dreaming

In her dream, she was crossing a vast desert:
brown sand, bare and colourless,
dotted with sage.
A river lay ahead. Around a corner,
she could hear paddling,
a boat full of people, singing,
coming towards her.
They were coming to get her,
to take her to the spirit world.

Just before they came in sight,
she awoke.
Not time yet.
Not yet.

  8. Wow! What a dream. It gave me sense of continuity - that there at the end of this life we will be greeted and our journey will continue in another form. Suzanne - Wayfaring blog - Wordpress.

  9. What a lovely vision, melodious and welcoming! Water has always resonated with me as a symbol of life, and after the "desert" that this world can be at times, the sound of water is a welcome poetic signifier of life.
