Strange Tales and Even Stranger Tails

She once dreamed of
knights on horses
who would create the fairytale
she wanted to live in.

It was a hard truth
that she had to write her own tale,
alone, without a human companion.
She sharpened her Sword of Truth
on the painful edge of that knowing.

Once she had learned well,
a black wolf sidled over
from a different tale,
with a tail of his own,
grinned toothily at her,
set her to laughing,
and led her a merry chase
along a beautiful shore.
She could not have loved him more.

  1. Loved this tale about Pup and how much he meant to you. And yes, I also liked how the beginning of your tale includes that one we were all told and believed, at least until reality set in.

  2. I wish everyone could experience the love you shared with Pup. I am convinced he was the avenue to your spiritual awakening. What else can do that but the truest love?
