created for me by my friend,
I will walk there again,
on those wild shores of my heart's home
and, when I do,
I will carry you there in my heart,
carry you back to where you ran and leaped
among the waves in joy.
Then, finally,
we will both be
Home.
for Mary's Tuesday prompt at dVerse: write about something you miss. The beach and Pup are the two things I miss, every minute of every day of my life.
Beautiful, Sherry! The missing is strong and very palpable!
ReplyDeleteyour PuP and my Jules are probably playing together, mi amiga
DeleteOh, Sherry. Just so beautiful. My heart has another home, too. I understand this, so much.
ReplyDeleteSo sad.. that dog is so close to you... still there is somewhere where you are together.. lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully expressed, sherry. The loss of the dog is the worst. You said so much in so few words.

ReplyDeleteGreetings from London.
Sherry,
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful and I am sure your heart will carry him until you meet again in that place called home.
Sherry,
ReplyDeletebeautiful! I miss my dogs all the time....when I see a dog that looks like them my heart leaps...for a moment
A very touching tribute to your pup Sherry ~
ReplyDeleteThis is very moving, Sherry. So much said and suggested in a few lines!
ReplyDeleteYou blended joy and loss so well here, Sherry. A beautiful thought to know that you two will be reunited...home someday.
ReplyDeleteYes, home is where the heart is.
ReplyDeleteTender images, and a beautiful visual presentation.
ReplyDeleteThere is something comforting and uplifting about this poem, despite the sense of loss which permeates it. Very nicely balanced.
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet tender words to your beloved friend who is gone but never forgotten.....who is with you aways in your heart.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Pup made it to 14; like 90+ in people years; not a bad canine romp. Such a heartfelt response to the "missing" prompt. My Taffy has been gone for a decade. Lovely to imagine all our dogs in "heaven", playing on golden beaches.
ReplyDeleteI believe they are all together playing, happy - waiting for us and so joyous when we come.
ReplyDeleteI'm so touched but also smiling. I can see you playing in the waves!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Missing our pups is hard, but good to know we'll be Home again with them one day. Peace, Linda
ReplyDeleteSmiles.. it is obvious
ReplyDeletethat he still
leaps
for joy
in your heart..
and i can see him
there as joy
in the
heArt of you..
what a gift.. Love..
it never need end..
as long as Love Loves..:)
