All the World's a Stage,
with me bumbling
about on it,
like Ms Magoo,
tripping over my feet,
slapping myself
upside the head,
muttering to myself.
Curtains get stuck
on the draw-ropes,
opening and closing
at random moments,
dust thick
in the old theatre.
The audience
grows restless,
coughing,
shuffling their feet,
and rattling
their programs.
They are waiting
for the magic
to begin.
Me, too!
Hee hee. Posted for Poetry Jam's prompt: Magic.

ReplyDeleteoh that made me smile... the curtains in that play called life...they open and close seemingly randomly indeed...and sometimes it's just too good or too funny or too embarrassing to be true...smiles

ReplyDeletelovely...it is a stage... and waiting for the magic to begin.. great one!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I feel like a supporting actor in the daily tragicomedy...but there is occasional magic, even if we have to conjure it ourselves. Nice going with this one.

Love the humor in this. But I know you know magic. You see it in nature, in the sky and inside.
