Middle of the Rockies

She found the Rockies

"Underwhelming", she said.

So I didn't think she would be

very wowed

by a gray whale

coming right up to the boat,

or the way the clouds

draped themselves

atop Lone Cone,

 the eagle nest

with its bright-eyed baby,

or the sursurrant song of the sea.

"Next year, I'll have a stay-cation,"

she smiled,

and I thought that

a pretty good plan.
