Wild Woman's Soul Whispers

Wild Woman looks at the state of the world.
"Believe!" her soul whispers.
"Inspire hope! Encourage all to dream!"

She believes. She hopes. She dreams.

But when she watches the news,
what her soul mostly whispers to her is
"I am so freaking tired."

  1. Hopefully your soul will be refreshed and your body will be invigorated this weekend. I will wish that for you, my friend.

  5. I hear you; it is hard to watch the world news~ I agree with you, tired of all the chaos n' ruin. It is a sad state of affairs!

  6. We have a book group at church studying a book (yeah, Christian-centered, but quite accessible) called, "It's Not Too Late" (A Field Guide to Hope), and it's really helping me through this season.

Loved your final lines, even though they made me want to fly to Canada just to give you a big hug and clean houses for you! Peace, Amy

  7. Shut it off, it's not news.

Believe, inspire, encourage, refresh the whisper.

  8. It is enough that you know how connected you are, it is enough that you try to do what you can, as you can. Your soul whispers are what the universe and other souls need.

  10. I understand this completely. Sometimes the best remedy for me is to not watch the news or read the paper for a few days.

  11. I don't watch the news much at all anymore for that very reason.

  12. Believing and hoping are exhausting in the face of today's reality. Fortunately, dreaming is possible no matter the seeming impossibility of the dream. Keep dreaming, Wild Woman. Enough powerful dreams by enough people may just bring back a reason to hope and believe.

  13. This is funny and sad at the same time - great writing! I watch a lot of cartoons and strangely enough they seem to make more sense than any news show ever did ;-)

  14. How true. Negative news seems to shatter all hope sometimes. But it is the nature of your soul to keep hoping. Nice poem.
