On Harmony

[image sent to me by a friend, from weheartit.com]

This beautiful image makes me think of a quote a dear artist friend
of mine in Tofino, Julie Draper, once wrote:

"The animals already
are living in harmony.
They are waiting for us
to join them there."

  3. Truly I disagree with the quote, Sherry. I guess I am not so idealistic. I wonder how the concept of predator and prey in the animal world could be explained. Each animal must find a way to keep itself safe, but there is a lot of killing/disharmony going on.

  8. I thought about predation too, as I was posting it. However maybe what Julie was getting at was how animals live in harmony with the natural world, and according to its laws, which humans would be wise to do as well. Thanks for visiting, folks! I so love hearing from you.

  9. I love the quote too.
Maybe it's always been the hunter and the hunted but, each only killing what it does to survive and, not for sport or gain.
I'd love to be that close to a friendly tiger. I guess no animal wishes to kill unless it's either hungry or in fear for its life.

  10. Those are wonderful words, and my instinct too tells me that the reference is to harmony with nature and natural law.

  13. I do like the quote. It kind of makes you sad though that it is not a reality.
