Prayer Beads

Small baby clouds
scattered across the heavens,
golden, smiling Buddha-sun
climbing up over the mountain -
even the traffic has fallen silent,
the better to appreciate
the loveliness of the morning,
as summer slowly tiptoes away.

I put on this day
like a prayer shawl,
and count my beads
of gratitude.

  1. Sometimes we do tend to get so caught up with the rat race we forget to actually 'live' our days instead of 'survive' them.
This is a lovely reminder to always stop and pause a while to count our many blessings. Lovely piece Sherry.

  3. There is always something to be grateful for, as you know. Even if, some days, it is quite a search.

  7. Reading the poem and looking at the image, I noticed that the coiled beads represented a more interlinked synergy. And I loved the phrase 'beads of gratitude'.
