The Raven's Cry

Raven,
with your hungry morning
gobble-cry,
you've got
survival
down.

How did you learn
assertion,
aggression,
trickery,
your love of
all that glitters?

Fix your
beady eye
on me.
Impart some wisdom.

Then fly up,
carrying
my faltering dreams
towards
the sky.

  1. One certainly can learn a few things from birds! Well done, Sherry.

  2. I just love this poem, Sherry. The cry of the human voice mingling with that of the bird, reminds us of the infinite connections we have with life around us.

  3. We are not so unlike the raven. morning cry of hunger, eyes captured by what sparkles and our sometimes raucous laughter and complaints. Thanks for this one Sherry,
