Wild Woman has an Alzheimer's Moment

Sister comes
through the door
with a frozen pound
of bacon.
We are used to
sharing things
back and forth
across the road.
"I need to borrow
your microwave,"
she says.
Wild Woman 
gets busy,
clearing off the top
of the microwave
and unplugging it,
ready to hand it over.

"Ummmm.....," 
Sister says,
her lips
being careful
to betray
no quivering,
and not completely
succeeding,
"wouldn't it be
easier
for me to use it
OVER HERE?"
