SONG OF THE FROGS

Port Albion, 1999

Song of the frogs
in the fading light
soft fade the hills
in the falling night
God touching earth
with a gentle might
and all is beauty
within my sight

soft falls the light
on garden walls
a rose-hued mountain
as day's curtain falls
a froggy symphony
serenades the night sky
and grateful, grateful, grateful
I.

  2. For nine months he is invisible and every year come rains, a huge frog appears in the shrubbery in front of our home, almost as big as a football, and he sure has a deep bass staccato croak!

Yesterday night I was sitting by my window, looking at the steady rain and halogen lit empty streets and there he was, more heard than seen!

You have a powerful imagery in your words, sherry blue

  3. Oh I love all these frogs! I have never seen a big one like yours, Manikchand and Ellie, could you post a photo ofyour family of frogs watching the telly? Too funny! I live across the road from my sister who has a very small pond on her property. Each night, spring through fall, I stand on my porch and hear them croaking at the night sky. I do love them!
