Winter Trees

In the frozen heart of winter,
stark, straight, tall, enduring,
bare branches reach in supplication
towards the sky.
The Standing People
are showing us
how to pray.

  5. When you mentioned the Standing People I immediately thought of the Easter Isle Heads. You may be making a native reference here as well, but just thought that was an amusing coincidence. Beautiful words as always Sherry! :)
