October, Personified

The Leaf Charmer
by Martin Eager Runique

You blaze your leaves at me
as if trying to seduce
this tired old unbewitchable heart.
And with your extravagant
oranges, yellows, reds,
it's true my soul is fed.

Writhing orgasmic-ly,
your branches dance,
Salome of the seven veils,
and, yes,
I surrender.
You entrance.

for Words Count with Mama Zen: October, Personified in 53 words or less.
I have 45. In truth, she has me at the first changed leaf, but sometimes one has to lie to write a poem!!!!

  11. I really like the contrast here between the tired old heart and the vibrancy of the month in personification. But I'm with Marian.
