Stars, at 2 A.M.

A canopy
of stars
stretches over
the sleeping town,
like a
blanket of
peace
over a
world
that cannot
comprehend
war.

Grandfather Cedar
stands tall
and black
against
the sky.

How can
the world
be so
peaceful
and beautiful,
and so full of
conflict and misery
at the same time?

Let us take
lessons
from
the stars
in staying
fixed and
tranquil.

  3. I often think the same kind of thoughts when I look at the stars or the clouds. Beautiful thoughts beautifully expressed.

  5. Nature is the true religion. Seems that all others are based on nature and the stars. Just my little thought.

  6. Sherry, the stars are far away, yet when we take the time to look up, we visually walk through their fire and are renewed. Thanks for this one,

    Elizabeth
